When it comes to caring for your pets, there is nothing of greater importance than the selection of your veterinarian. I have entrusted Dr. Debra Nossaman and the staff at Anasazi Animal Clinic with the care of my pets for over 13 years – and there have been quite a few of the over the years! Not only have they received the best of medical care, but that have also received the best of personal care. From check-ups to illnesses, to those vacation-boarding needs, they have always been there for us. My dogs actually get excited when we go there, which confirms to me the attention they get during my absence. It's nice to know there are veterinarians and clinics that still treat each and every animal as if it were there own. I will forever be indebted.

While driving home from work one evening in February 2004 "Chester" "The Chesapeake's" Dad, John Wenzel spotted two black objects running along Hunt Highway where cars go 60-80 miles per hour. He pulled over when he realized they were two black lab puppies. Two brothers, they were only eight or nine weeks old and all alone on a busy highway. Mr. Wenzel called his friends at Anasazi Animal Clinic where he took them for some tender loving care. Healthy beautiful pups, they were given complete physicals, vaccinated, wormed and bathed. Within the next week they were sent with a certificate (for future neuters) to new loving homes. Congratulations to Dennis Moore and Brent Caraway and kudos to John Wenzel for being the Good Samaritan.
Canine Ovariohysterectomy & Castration
When four-month-old "Sam" Fehd "Puppy Adventurer" came to Anasazi in December 2003 for vomiting, his owner brought with him a partially chewed bottle of "Gorilla Glue". "Gorilla Glue" on contact with stomach fluid had expanded to fill Sam's stomach to capacity. X-Rays confirmed the distention and Sam was immediately taken to surgery. The "Glue" had hardened to Styrofoam consistency 10cm in diameter. Luckily, no permanent damage was done to Sam's stomach and he is thriving and growing leaps and bounds. Make sure you puppy proof your house.
Preventive Training For Puppies / Dogs
When "Isabelle" Martin "Boxer Princess" came to Anasazi for limping in January 2004 Dr. Nossaman took x-rays and baseline blood work before putting her on an anti-inflammatory. Totally asymptomatic for heart disease, "Isabelle's" blood work came back positive for heartworm disease. Confirmed by a second laboratory test "Isabelle" was successfully treated by the Anasazi team before the heartworms had a chance to damage her heart. Seeing an increase in this potentially fatal yet treatable disease has made us much more conscious of informing owners that there is heartworm in Arizona. Make sure your pet is tested today if they are not already on heartworm preventative.
