Rex, Anasazi Greeter since 1995
Rex was brought to us at approximately six weeks of age, hissing and spitting. He had patchy hair, crusty skin, fleas, and an attitude as mangy as his coat. With lots of nursing care, Rex blossomed. He was adopted out twice the first year but wouldn't come out from under the bed at either of his adopted families. He promised to make clients at the front desk feel at home in exchange for a permanent place at Anasazi. Rex is also an "uncle" to many homeless kittens brought to the clinic.
Larry, Office Helper since 2005
Larry came to Anasazi from a litter of feral kittens in the East Valley. He and his siblings, Mo and Curly, were soon tamed with love and good groceries. Larry was adopted to what we had screened as a good home at about ten weeks of age. He was brought back to us with a severe eye infection that should have received medical attention long before it did. Dr. Nossaman demanded that Larry be relinquished to the clinic. Aggressive medical therapy failed and Larry had to have his eye removed. What a shame! But Larry doesn't seem to mind. He's just glad he doesn't have a headache any more. He is currently studying greeting skills from Uncle Rex. He's developing "aren't I cute" skills all on his own.

Who would believe that this lovable, doughy, fat boy was once a lean and mean tomcat? For three years, this feral cat stole food from Dr. Nossaman’s barn cats. It took three years before Dr. Nossaman could pet him. After a few months of bonding, she was able to give him a kitty cocktail (tranquilizer) one day and then quickly stuffed him in a carrier.
Puggy was brought to Anasazi, neutered and, as he had a mouth full of bad teeth, he received a dental cleaning, extractions and a root canal. He has since blossomed into a lovable purr box and has decided his mission is to greet all who enter Anasazi, including dogs.
